For those who didn't know...I just had Lasik done on my eyes...It was ODD to say the least.  Im doing great now but had a rare side effect yesterday...a Migraine!!!  Ended up popping 2 vicodin to get rid of the pain.  The good thing is...today when I went in, I am 20/15 in my right eye and 20/20 in my left.  The best I have ever been!  So, so long glasses and contacts...I will never see you again!

As for all the details...

I was given a valium because I was extremely nervous.  After all the worst that could happen is that I would be blind!  So I took it about an hour before I went under the blinking light.  Waiting for the procedure I was talking with the other 2 people in the waiting room with me.  They weren't as nervous that I could tell but I remember the valium hitting me and boy was I feeling it.  Finally I got to go in and I laid in the chair/table thing.  First it was scooch an inch up...then it was scooch an inch down.  I ended up where I begun.  My eyes were then bombarded with several drops...one in which numbs the eyes.  He then started the procedure by putting collegen plugs in my tear removing ducts so water would stay on my eyes.  That was the easy part.  My eyes were then pryed open and the fun began.  I tensed up but was rather interested on him wiping my eyeball and not feeling a thing.  It was rather cool!!  Then this disk thing was placed over my eye and pressure was added sucking my eyeball up through it.  That was not cool.  It was rather unpleasent feeling but still it did not hurt.  Everything went black and that is when he cut the flap over the eye.  The suction was released and then the fun began.  The flap was pealed back and everything was blurrier than I have ever seen before.  All I could see was the blinking orange light above me.  I was told to focus on it and trust me I did.  It was all I could see.  The machine laser then did its thing and gave off this oder that was like a burning chemical smell.  When that was finished, the flap was put back over and smoothed out and my eye was taped shut.  The same was done to my other eye and the procedure was done.  15 minutes for both eyes and that was it.  I was told to sit up and expecting this valium to return I was careful...  To my dissappointment...my adrenaline had taken over and wiped out my Valium!!!  I was then lead tho this dark room to sit with my eyes shut for 30 minutes until I was told to go home and keep my eyes shut for another 4 hours.  Now ask yourself...what would anyone do who had to keep their eyes closed for 4 hours..yep that's right...I took a nap!  Woke up at 8:15 or so and boy did I need some eye drops!!  My eyes hurt bad...and not from the sugery...but from when they had my eyes pryed open!!  I then quickly developed a migraine and I was miserable.  I was lucky enough to have a generous husband and a wonderful friend here with me.  (Courtney you are the best!)  I took a Vicodin and sat in my lazy-boy praying it would go away.   About 2 hours later I am still sitting there and it is worse!  So...I took another one.  30 minutes later they kicked in!!  I think I had one of the best nights sleep in a looooooooong time!  The bad part was...I had to be up at 0630 to return to the eye people for a 12 hour exam to make sure the flap was where it should be.  Again my wonderful Courtney was here and Jeff and I were able to go save kids.  Needless to say...I am now without glasses and contacts with better vision that I could have hoped for!

OK...I understand people believe in their religion for a reason.  I am fine with that.  When you start pushing your religion on other...I draw the line.  This has NOTHING to do with anyone in this group!  I love you all.  I'm on a group here in Oklahoma that is continually sending around the stupid email about companies switching the 'Merry Christmas' signs to Happy Holidays or Season's Greeting.  The stupid ass people need to f*in learn there is a WHOLE world out there that does not involve them.  There is also Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Ramadan and the Winter Solstice in the same timeframe.  If they really want to argue the situation...the Pagan's had the holiday first!!!  Christmas was molded after the Winter Solstice!  It is the Winter Solstice (oh give 4 days).  These 'Christians' are so UN-Christian in the tolerance for other people.  They are the reason our country is in turmoil and should be charged with treason and hung in the middle of a square!!  OK I went a little too far...but they should be forced to learn tolerance by at least reading into the other religions in which they so love to cast aside as cults. Maybe they will learn they weren't the first...or for that matter they weren't even the second!

Thank you if you read this far...I feel better!

OK...I feel Lame....my last entry was July!!  Here it is November and nothing.  Life is way too busy I have actually forgotten to breathe some days...  Problem set, Lab 5, Long term project, Studying and then still finding time to spend with my family.  Well at least Lab 5 is almost done and out of the way.  The PS (thanks to some close friends) is coming along, but this LTP is kicking my ass.  I have Data that needed to be analyzed when we first got it and thanking myself for starting it a week ago instead of putting it off until next week.  So...I'm about 1/2 way done with the North Base Data.  I still have that, the micronet and the paper to write up.  UGH!!!

Anyway...

I got another credit card...yeah that is all I need.  THANKS WAL-MART!  The good part about it...it is only a $75 limit.  In other words...Gas money.  My mom said she would pay for my gas seeing as how high gas prices have gotten and Jeff bought a new truck.  We need to catch up with having to pay the stupid taxes and initial payment etc. etc. etc.  February is looking good right now...tax season.  All I want is my big fat return.

Anyway I am skipping remote sensing right now to do more of the problem set so David and Brian don't think I know nothing...although I can do their JiTTs while they do the PS and I would be happy with that!!!  just kidding.  I like to know what I am doing too.

ok...leaving now...

HAHA Ignore last post.  I suck at more than 1 weeks out but I suck at less than 5 days out.the 6-8 day time frame is best.  So she is going into the gulf...now the new question is...Brownsville or Galvaston...how far North is she going to curve before she hits.

Still waiting for TD #6 to develop.  Hoping it does in the centeral atlantic so it can curve to NC and eventually here in VA.  if it hit NC...we ALWAYS get it.  may not have the intensity but definately the rain...so here is to hoping.

OMG I just realized I haven't posted in forever!  Well...I am sitting here at my desk at the NWS in Wakefield, VA.  There is absolutely nothing to do.  I never realized what a boring job it is to work at the weather service!  I honestly think my forte is at the NHC or SPC.  I hate doing nothing.  We are watching CNN (the biggest joke to news ever) laughing at the flooded BAR they are showing...OMG not a BAR!!!  Pity...anyone want a beer in Clearwater??  Meet you there.

So...as soon as Dennis hit, TD#5 decided to pop up.  any takers on where it is going?  I say East Coast.  Whether it be Florida or turn back out to see...I am not seeing anything that is going to let it coast into the Gulf.  I have my high-tech computers here today (laugh here), so I will be trying to make my week out forecast.  7-10 days out I'm usually accurate with in 25 miles...anything less...I SUCK!  So here is to Emily...lets churn up some ocean!  I am hoping for a nice turn to Cape Hatteras so I can see it rain sideways for 2 days before I leave.  A nice cat 4 will serve me fine for the rest of the season.  Too bad the waters are still a little too cold for that to happen here.
